It also used small amounts of CPU even when I wasn't watching video of any kind. I noticed 'empdaemon' was appearing regularly at the top of my Activity Monitor CPU, especially when watching youtube. I noticed there were a number of questions regarding 'empdaemon' on here, but none answered my specific dilemma.
